The Pakistan Origin Card (POC) is issued to eligible foreign nationals of Pakistani origin — former Pakistani citizens, those whose parents or grandparents were Pakistani nationals, or foreign spouses of Pakistani nationals. It provides them with a secure, verified link to Pakistan and grants significant rights and privileges while in the country.
Documents required vary by eligibility category: • Former Pakistani: Foreign passport + old Pakistani NIC or cancellation certificate • Parent/grandparent based: Foreign passport + parent's or grandparent's Pakistani NIC, birth certificate showing lineage • Spouse of Pakistani: Foreign passport + Pakistani spouse's CNIC + marriage certificate • Dependent child of foreign spouse: Foreign passport + parent's POC + birth certificate All documents must be attested/verified by the relevant Pakistani authority.
(A) Pak Identity Mobile App: Apply online via the Pak ID app (Android & iOS). Navigate to: ID Documents → POC → New/Renewal/Modification. Upload documents digitally. (B) Pakistani Embassy / Consulate: Apply in person at the nearest Pakistani diplomatic mission. Bring all original documents plus copies. Note: POC applications are typically processed through embassies abroad or NADRA HQ in Islamabad.
Biometric data (photograph and fingerprints) will be captured at the embassy or NADRA centre. Documents will be verified for authenticity. This process may involve additional checks for applicants based on parent/grandparent eligibility.
POC fees are charged in USD. Fees may be paid in PKR at the official conversion rate on the application date.
The POC will be delivered by post to your registered address, or collected in person from the embassy / NADRA centre. Track your application status through the Pak ID app.
